Designer and owner of inBloom, Rebecca Rose
As a child, Rebecca had already a scientific curiosity and spiritual connection to plant life. Her childhood was shared with her sister daydreaming in their Florida yards, playing with spittlebugs in the grass and collecting azalea blossoms. They often took walks with their mom teaching them about plants, bugs, and birds with wonderment.
Rebecca began working in the floral industry at the age of 20. Very shy, she walked into a flower shop and applied for a job. What at first was just a means to support herself and her family, became a road to self-discovery and a natural passion working with plant life. She quickly grew into a skilled floral designer and designed for St. John’s Flower Market for 11 years.
Applying her skills further, Rebecca began working at Anita’s Garden Shop & Design designing living plant container gardens, as well as practicing indoor plant care and interior accent decorating. After 6 years there, her skills broadened, and she began to envision working independently.
Peaking at her employed services, Rebecca became artistically frustrated within the limitations of working under another’s business and desired a change. It was also at this time she was making progress in mental health wellness, and through wholeness counseling, she confronted the traumas of childhood bullying, sexual abuse, workplace bullying, and family enmeshment. This inner self work and caring for plants aided in exercising her found voice and making way for personal growth and career moves. She picked up miscellaneous jobs and learned new skills while writing up a business map of her own interior garden design business.
From a curious kid playing with bugs to years of experience in the making, Rebecca founded inBloom. Establishing a space where she can share her plant care expertise and design style as a means to provide and serve with plant life philosophy.
Rebecca is currently working crafting espresso and taking care of plants at a community based retail space as she continues to build and nurture inBloom. You can still catch her outside daydreaming, playing with bugs and collecting blossoms.
